at Balanced Body is to celebrate
life's boundless journey through the gifts of yoga, and fitness. We compassionately share this wisdom in our daily connections with each
other, our communities and the world around us. We support individuals on
their path to living a personally meaningful and balanced life. Through
education, movement, contemplation and loving kindness, we encourage
holistic values that become a catalyst for social change. We aim to operate
an ethical business offering products and services that provide an
exceptional value and benefit.
BBY opened on February 1, 2005
in Cedar Park, Texas. Yoga and Pilates classes are offered every week
and we are always looking to add more classes to the schedule as the studio
grows.
BBY was opened with the intent
of bringing mind, body and spirit awareness, peace and most importantly
BALANCE into the lives of the community. For most people, yoga only
involves the physical body. There is no doubt that with consistent practice
you will lose weight, tone and strengthen muscle and receive all of the
wonderful health benefits of yoga. However there is much more than meets
the eye. There exists an inter-connectedness between ALL things and with
this practice we open the channels within ourselves to become more
self-loving and in turn cultivate compassion, love and a respect for all
things and for those who live, breathe and feel! We are all filled with the
light of love and a state of peace exists within all of us. This practice
will become a conduit toward unity in all aspects of your life.
Practicing Yoga and meditation have been scientifically proven to reduce
stress and calm the mind. Yoga is a mind-body experience that brings
balance, strength and flexibility to those who practice.

what to expect
The style of Yoga is a
rich and very soulful blend of movement and stillness that creates energy
within the body.
All classes are designed to be
challenging and accessible to all levels and abilities. In each class
you will burn calories, increase flexibility, gain strength, detoxify,
release tension, develop focus, and electrify the body. This
flow-based (vinyasa) style of yoga heats up the body from the inside out and
works the cardiovascular system, which in turn fights off infection and
improves the immune system.
Your strength will increase by
using your own natural body weight and at the same time, flexibility is
gained through the entire body while keeping the mind calm and focused
through deep rhythmic breathing (ujjayi). By breathing through
stretches and becoming aware of body sensations, one is able to stay in the
present moment. Balance poses are included in each class, to challenge the
mind and body and to develop concentration. Twisting poses are incorporated
to assist the body in detoxification and cleansing of the internal organs.
By the end of class you will
find tension is released from your body, every muscle group has been warmed
and worked, and the mind has been present and focused.
Poses are thoroughly described.
You choose the level at which you want to work. Modifications are
always presented for the less experienced student. Similarly advanced
students are offered suggestions to improve their practice. All
obstructions have been removed for those interested in yoga, while
preserving the mental, emotional, and spiritual benefits of this ancient
practice.
