For me, life really did begin at 40.  I have more confidence and am happier now than I have ever been in my life.  Unfortunately, there is also a down side to getting older.  Joint stiffness, aches and pains, arthritis and feeling tired all the time plagued me.

 

Balanced Body Yoga has made a terrific difference for me.  I am not a very athletic person but you don’t have to be to enjoy the benefits of practicing yoga. The classes are tailored to individual needs and you go at your own pace.  All the instructors are certified and very knowledgeable about the practice of yoga and the overall benefits for your mind and body. Yoga is also great for reducing stress. 

 

I have new found energy and really feel rejuvenated and relaxed after each session.  I wish I could go every day.

I started the beginner class a few months ago to help gain some flexibilty, which I desperately needed. I'm so very stiff. Little did I know I would embark on a journey of many personal achievements!

Kat's classes are always very relaxing and spiritually inspirational. I'd go home feeling quite fulfilled, very stretched and at peace with myself.

However, when I got home, I'd promptly head out to the porch, watch the stars and light my nightly "relaxation" cigarette.

One night, Kat's class was "twisting" themed. She remarked a few times during class how twisting the body was a cleansing posture. Like wringing a sponge of all its water, twisting the body wrings the internal organs of all the toxicities we put in ourselves. That night, after class, feeling very healthy and relaxed I went out for my nightly cigarette and it actually tasted horrible. I couldn't even finish it! Kat's words were echoing in my brain. I'm not sure if my sudden distaste was psychosomatic or if it really was a physical disgust of the cigarette's toxicity but I haven't had a cigarette since! Thanks Kat!

It’s amazing what you can get used to. I came to Kat’s yoga class as a 44 year old man with renewed emphasis on my health and fitness. I had lost 20 pounds of weight through exercise and improved nutrition. Yet with all of my efforts, I had multiple nagging aches and pains. On top of that, I discovered that my blood pressure had increased to pre-hypertension levels. This was my state of being when I decided to give yoga a try.

Eight months later, I wonder how I got along without yoga. I had no idea how much my flexibility and core strength had decreased over the years. I started in the beginner’s class and stayed there for several months before moving up to the Flow classes. Kat’s yoga classes have been life changing for me. Through yoga and increased rest, I was able to lower my blood pressure by 15 points without medication. I feel better than I have in at least the last 15 years of my life. The classes are challenging, but the end result is an amazing feeling of well being and synergy. I had no idea of how bad I was feeling for years until I started feeling GOOD!
