Kat Graham     Owner/Yoga Instructor     Group Classes and Private Sessions

My journey in Yoga began in the summer of 1999.  Three years later I trained to become a teacher at Whole Life Health Center in Dallas, Texas. In the summer of 2004 I relocated to the Austin area to open my own studio.  My background is in an Astanga (Power Yoga) style and I am always learning new modalities to enhance my own practice and continually build curriculum.

Yoga was just another competitive sport until the non-physical elements began to surface in my practice.  The onset of this transformation began with a severe neck injury while practicing.  The injury forced me to retire from the mat for a year and discover the other limbs of Yoga.  I began a journey toward self-healing from the inside out and learned much about myself, what it means to be here and how to live my life.  I trained to become a massage therapist in 1998 however I have retired my practice to focus on teaching Yoga and to actively run my business.  In the spring of 2003 I became a Reiki Master and integrate my gift of energetic healing into everyday life.

I believe that Yoga is nourishment for the body and soul and I am grateful to all who come to the studio in search of mind, body and/or spirit renewal.  I teach with the trust that every student will leave class feeling both physically and mentally charged and will have learned something that they can use to better themselves and their lives.

Lisa Ross     Yoga & Pilates Instructor     Group Classes and Private Yoga and Pilates Reformer Training

Fitness has been a part of my life for as long as I can remember.  For the past 20 years I have been teaching fitness classes (i.e. dance aerobics, step, slide, spinning, water aerobics, interval, and muscle defining formats) in a health club environment.  In 2001, after suffering shoulder issues related to teaching excessive cardio and muscle based classes and not enough flexibility training, I took my first “Power Yoga” class.  I found the flowing movements and postures both challenging and invigorating while restoring a peaceful state of mine.  I was hooked!

In 2004, I injured my back to the point that I had to stop teaching everything for a while. With the help of physical therapy, deep tissue massage, gentle yoga and Pilates core training I was able to stabilize my spine and alleviate the pain. Since then I have been on a yoga journey, learning as much as possible about creating a healthy back with yoga practice, core stabilization (Pilates) and spinal alignment.

I am certified through ACE, AFAA, and have completed my 200 hour RYT with Yogafit.

I currently enjoy teaching Vinyasa style yoga and Pilates classes; helping people to create a strong, healthy, balanced body that will enhance the quality of their lives.

Jessica Apodaca     Yoga Instructor     Group Classes and Private Yoga Sessions

Everyone has an energy and gift within them. For some it may be hidden. For others, we may not exercise it enough. With yoga, we are on a continual journey of self-discovery. Each time we practice, more of our true Self is revealed. This enhances our ability to share our talents with others. Teaching yoga allows me to connect with people in many positive ways. This has been absolutely life changing. Whatever I am able to give to my students, I know without a doubt will one day be returned to me.

I discovered yoga only six and a half years ago. I’ll never forget my first class and how fantastic it made me feel. In early 2004, I answered my desire to teach and sought training through YogaFit.  I like to think that my class has a balance of strength, sweat, and soul.  I hope my students are able to enjoy movement in a creative and intuitive way, as they know their bodies best. Although a "teacher", I am still a student. The journey never ends.....

Michelle Friedman     Yoga Instructor    Group Classes

Yoga came into my life in 1997. I was originally drawn to it for the health benefits but didn't expect it to transform me in so many other ways.

My certification is through the Living Yoga Program and I am nationally registered with Yoga Alliance.

I was fortunate enough to live and study amongst the residents at Barsana Dham here in Austin.

I teach various styles of yoga ranging from Restorative to Power. My goal is to pass onto others what I have been blessed to receive. That is the connection of yoga through body, mind, and spirit.
